About Me
I am like a bowl of mixed fruits (rojak-lah)... heh! my mom's mostly chinese but her ancestor is european... my dad's east indian... I am quite fair, have dark brown hair, tall, athleletic and looks like anything from latino to italian to asian...

Travelling:... like a chameleon, i blend into the local peoples and customs everywhere i travel in the world... (speaking of which, i have been to about 30 countries within europe, asia, USA, latin america, australasia)... Since I speak English, Malay, Chinese, and a word or two of spanish, I seldom have trouble chatting with anyone... I travel mostly alone, either on business trip or visiting friends...

High Adventures... daring, challenge, experience... these are things that draw me to do crazy stuff. I have participated in the National Geographic Action Asia Challenge, an eco-challenge like race-event thru the Malaysian jungles, rock climbing, ab-seiling, mountain biking, swimming and canoeing... even fell down a 12 foot waterfall (luckily didn't break my b*lls, or I wouldn't be here seeking gurlfriends)... took my team about 12 hours to complete, totally huffing and puffing after that!!!... Done: deep jungle camping, hang-gliding off some hill in Rio De Janeiro overlooking the ocean, Underwater Diving to over 100 feet in the coral reefs of Redang Island, climbed the tallest peak in south east asia -- mount Kinabalu, over 14,000 feet... Looking to do: Skydiving and Bungee Jumping (if I don't piss my pants first)!

Reading... I find comfort losing myself in the worlds of the imagined... ie, books... I have read about 1000 plus books already, devouring about 3-4 books/week. Mostly I read science fiction and fantasy (My favorite authors -- Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clark, Robert Jordan, David Gemmell, etc). I also read some philosophy, sciences, and other general knowledge just to keep up to date...

Business... I am financially independent having started several businesses... i have an IT company and dabling into Real Estate...

Other Interests... includes movies (watching lots of em... they can't make enough good movies for me), writing (still suffering from a 1000 year writer's block as i haven't finished chapter 1 yet of my soon to be bestseller), painting (whenever I am inspired, check out some of my paintings in my photo album), chatting with some close friends till the wee hours of the morning,...

So, who am I?... I am a philosopher at heart, not afraid to ask difficult questions to free the mind... Keywords that describes me: Integrity, Honesty, Go-Getter, Intelligent, Down to Earth, Romantic (when I am with the right girl), Logical, Knowledgeable, All-Rounder.

aah... almost wrote a manuscript here!!
My MOTTOs:

Life is short, have some fun!
Knowledge will set you FREE!
Tolerate, Not Obliterate!
Listen & Learn, Not Preach!

Kung Fu show with Malaysia Hari Ini - TV3
04:42 AM

Ah, yup... Sifu Gary Koh was invited by Malaysia Hari Ini to talk about his Wa San & Bak Mei Kung Fu.  We went along to do some demonstrations... as i am pretty new, can hardly do anything, so i guess i ended up doing the medidative stance.

Lasik - Recovery Log
08:01 AM

This blog is to record the recovery period after Lasik surgery that I had undergone.  It will be updated from time to time.  I will not create multiple blogs as they will be hard to follow. It''ll be better if I put in all the data into this ONE journal entry and update them everyday.

Day 0 (Friday, March 4th, 2005) - The day of the surgery

After the procedure, my eyes were very sore, felt like someone rubbed salt into my eyes directly.  Tears were flowing freely for the entire journey home, and it's difficult to open my eyes.  At this point, while my mom was driving me home, i already can read the road signs, albeit not too sharply probably due to the tears.

I was given an anti-biotics drop which I am supposed to use once every 4 hours and an anti-inflammatory eye drops to be used every 2 hours for the first week.

As soon as I reached home, i went to sleep.  Couldn't do much anyways and it felt a lot better just keeping my eyes shut.  I slept till about midnight, then woke up for a while, and then fell asleep again after taking the ONE sleeping pill that the doc provided.  Needless to say, with the sleeping pill in effect, I had no dreams whatsoever.

Today was the day I experienced the most halo effects, star burst, etc.  (the halo effect make you see soft light to appear to be expanded, and star burst makes you see sharper light like spotlights to be giving out lines like when a starship goes into hyperspace).

Note: '+' indicates positive power, or long sightedness, or overcorrected.

Day 1 (Saturday, March 5th)

Today I had to go in for the First Day checkup.  Here's the results:

R: +50, L: +75 with Astig -50

Apparently the doc says my right eye was seeing 20/20, and my left 20/30.  Most of the uncomfortable feeling was gone today and I felt quite good actually.

Day 2 (Sunday, March 6th)

Went to Mega Mall and did an eye test there.  Also bought a pair of sunglasses that set me back about RM1700

R: 0, L: +50

Day 3  (Monday, March 7th)

I think this was the best day ever.  I can see everything!!  I think my right eye were zero and my left were prob a bit worse off.

Day 4 (Tuesday, March 8th)

Today, I washed my face, and may have accidentally pressed a bit on my right eye because as soon as i opened my eyes, my right eye deterioted instantly.  Everything went blur.  My left eye, which usually see less well suddenly see much better than my right.  I was actually in a panic thinking that i may have screwed up my eye during these very sensitive recovery period.  Maybe it was the chlorine in the water or the pressure that i pressed on my eye may have caused this.  The whole day was one of the worse day of my life because i actually believed that my eye will not recover.

Day 5 (Wednesday, March 9th) - 2nd Checkup at Vista

Today I think my right eye improved a bit but was still blurred.  The checkup at Vista found my power to be the following:

R: 0, L: +25, Astig -50

Actually, the test lenses didn't improve my sight on my right eye but i still can't really make out the first line of text.  It was blurred out.  But they record it as 0 because the lenses couldn't fix it.  So, it must be damaged or something.

Day 6 (Thursday, March 10th)

My right eye started to recover.  I can see much better today and less of those blurs.

2nd Week

The first few days of the second week, my right eye seems to be quite good, i think it was at zero or close to it.  Then it started to deteriorate.

Day 21 (Friday, March 25th), End of the 3rd week

Today I did a test at Mega Mall again:

R: +75, L: +100, Astig -25

As you can see, today, my eyes were probably the worse since the first day.  I was actually relieved to find that my power was still in the positive range which means that they could eventually go back down.  I was worried before the test that they were in the negative.  But time will tell if they will improve or I am to be stuck at this permanently which means that I'll have to wear glasses especially if I want to read or use the computer because when your eye power is in the positive, you can not see close range clearly.

Day 22 (Saturday, March 26th)

Today my power is (England optical Leisure Mall):  R: +0.25 / 25-170, L:+0.50

If you compare today and yesterday, you'll see how wildly my power is fluctuating.  Also, I have very dry eyes now and will likely to be worse as my nerves grow back and I get more sensations on my eye.  There are soreness on both eyes and red-veins are seen at the edge of both eyes snaking their way to the iris, very scary.

Day 24 (Monday, March 28th)

Tested my eyes at Mega Mall: R+0.50, Astig -0.50/180, L+0.50

Note: Up till now, I am experiencing Severe Dry Eye Syndrome.  From what info I can find at www.laseryoureye.org, it appears that my Dry Eyes are here to stay (permanent) and in fact will get worse as time goes by for 2 reasons:  1) as my nerves grow back, i'll then start to feel the worse of it.  Right now, my nerves has been damaged by the Lasik Operation and I do not really feel how bad the dry eyes are.  2) As I get older, my eyes will naturally lose more ability to produce tears.

Dry Eyes are no picnic.  I constantly feel a slight burning sensation in my eyes. It can sometimes turn into ache and slight pain, which will then translate to headache.  At night when i sleep, my eyes will be extremely dry.  I also feel foreign body sensation quite often (basically feeling that there's something in my eye which is caused by dry spots).

Ezer Manizer you old Geezer! Just kiddin bud! Hey we're still in our 20s right? hehe.. This guy is my Super buddy, the Super as in Superman. I still love our 'gentlemen' picture when we were in Europe..hehe.. the ladies loved it too.

You know, as if the food, warmth, and pretty girls in Malaysia wasn't enough to bring me there year after year, it's the Ez man that really does it. I'd go to the North pole and hang out with him of course, though, i'd question his sanity living there i guess....stupid cold..grumble... hrmm.. oh, where was I?... Ahh yes --- He's an outstanding character, genius, rationale, trustworthy, dependable, kind, and empathetic: and these are but a miniscule amount of adjectives that one can attach at any point in his life and be absolutely accurate. If you don't know him yet, it's time to meet someone that will change your life for the better. You're still reading this? Get to it.

I have known this guys since he was thirteen years old and it what is amazing that after almost twenty years of being friend's with this guy he has not changed much. Sure he might be a bit more fatter around the mid section and a not as chubby as he was several years ago but he still retains his sense of humour like the good old days in secondary school. You can chat and joke with him, make fun of him which I do a lot of and never be worried that he might get upset and decide not to talk to you ever as some of our common friends have done. In short this is a guy who you can depend on to be there when push comes to shove. I do hope that he will however find his dream girl to settle down with in the near future. This guy needs some real TLC and I bet deep inside he still has not found what he is looking for in a woman.
